Migrating from Mantle to Affilitrak for Apps: A Step-by-Step Guide

Here's everything you need to move your affiliate program from Mantle to Affilitrak, from connecting your app to importing your affiliates, with your existing links staying live the whole way through.

Switching platforms sounds risky, but this migration is designed to be quick and low-stress.

Your affiliates keep using the same links they already have, your referral history comes across, and most of the work is on your side in a few short steps.

This guide walks you through the whole process.

There are two parts:

1. Connect your app to Affilitrak (the one-time setup).

2. Migrate your Mantle data (the actual import).

You need to complete part 1 before you'll move on to part 2, because the migration relies on the connections you set up first.

Before you begin

Have these ready so you don't have to stop partway through:

• Your Affilitrak for apps account
• Access to your Shopify Partners dashboard
• Access to the Google Cloud project that holds your app's GA4 and BigQuery export
• Your affiliate CSV export from Mantle

Part 1: Connect your app to Affilitrak

Step 1: Add your app

• On your Affilitrak-for-apps account, go to the Apps tab.
• Click Add App.
• Enter your app's details, including its name and Shopify App Store listing URL.
• Click Add App to save it.
• Click the app you just created to open its connection screen.

This screen is where you connect everything.

There are three things to set up here: your Shopify Partner API, your BigQuery access, and your commission rules.

Step 2: Connect the Shopify Partner API

Connecting the Partner API is what lets Affilitrak see when a shop installs your app and pays for a subscription, so it can calculate the right commission.

You'll need two pieces of information: your app ID and a partner API access token.

Find your app ID and partner organization ID

• Go to partners.shopify.com and open your Shopify Partners dashboard.

• Click the app you're connecting.

• Look at the URL on your app's page. It contains two numbers.

  "The first number is your partner organization ID, and the second number is your app ID."

• Copy your app ID into the matching field in Affilitrak and save.

• Copy your partner organization ID into its field in Affilitrak as well.

There are also short instructions on the page itself if you need them.

Create your partner API access token

This token is something you generate yourself inside your Shopify Partners dashboard.

• From your Partner dashboard home, click Partner settings.

• Scroll down to Partner API clients and click Manage.

• Click Create API client.

• Give it a name. Anything works, for example "Affilitrak."

• Enable the View financials permission.

  "This is the only permission Affilitrak needs, it is read-only, and you can revoke it at any time. It exists so that when a shop purchases your app, Affilitrak can detect the purchase and, if it came from an affiliate, calculate the commission."

• Click Save.

• Copy your API token and paste it into the matching field in Affilitrak.

Step 3: Connect BigQuery

BigQuery access is what lets Affilitrak match an install back to the affiliate who referred it.

You grant Affilitrak read access to your analytics export, and there's no key for you to generate or store.

• In the BigQuery section, click How to grant access, then open the link it provides.
• Copy the service account email that Affilitrak shows you.
• In your Google Cloud project, choose Grant access and paste that email into the new principal field.
• Assign two roles to it: BigQuery Data Viewer and BigQuery Job User.
• Click Save in Google Cloud.
• Back in Affilitrak, enter your project ID.
• Click Fetch datasets. Your app's dataset should appear.
• Click Select a dataset, choose your app's dataset, and save.

Step 4: Set your commission rules

Now tell Affilitrak how affiliates should earn on this app.

• Set your commission. For example, you might start with a 10 percent recurring revenue share as a placeholder and adjust it later.
• Click Save.

That's the full setup.

Once this is done, your app is connected and ready.

Your affiliate invite link

On the app's page you'll see a copy link card.

This is the link you send to affiliates so they can join your program. You'll use this again at the end of the migration, so you know where it is.

Part 2: Migrate your Mantle data

With your app connected, the migration itself is short.

Step 1: Export your affiliates from Mantle

In Mantle, export your affiliate CSV. This is the file that contains your affiliates and their referral codes.

Step 2: Upload the CSV to Affilitrak

In Affilitrak, upload the affiliate CSV you exported from Mantle.

Step 3: Preview the migration

Click Preview.

Affilitrak fetches your BigQuery data and automatically matches your referrals to your existing affiliates, so you can see exactly what will be imported before anything is committed.

Nothing is written to your account at this stage.

Step 4: Import

Click Import selected and that's the whole migration.

All of your referrals are connected to your existing affiliates, and those affiliates can keep using their existing affiliate links with no changes on their end.

Step 5: Invite your affiliates (optional)

If you'd like to, you can also send a bulk email from Affilitrak to all of your affiliates inviting them to create an Affilitrak account.

This lets them log in and see their own dashboard, with their referred shops, performance, and payouts.

Because their accounts and data are already imported, the invite reads as a continuation of your existing relationship, not a request to start over.

What happens after migration

Once the import is complete:

• Your affiliates' existing links keep working, because they point at your App Store listing and Affilitrak honors the same referral codes.
• Your referral history is in place, matched to the right affiliates.
• Going forward, commissions accrue automatically each billing cycle a referred shop pays, based on the rules you set.

Your affiliates built your growth.

This migration is designed so they stay exactly where they are while you move platforms underneath them.
